Job summary

Nordea Asset Management is seeking a data engineer to accelerate a shift toward Snowflake and AI-enabled data engineering and analytics. You will join the Risk and Valuation value stream in building scalable data infrastructure and analytical solutions for risk management and valuation teams, enabling reliable insights from complex financial data.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team, own parts of the SDLC, and contribute to evolving data platforms with modern stack components like

Would you like to be a part of Nordea Asset Management’s journey to build a new data platform? We are looking for a data engineer to accelerate our shift towards Snowflake and AI enabled data engineering and data analytics.

Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is the center of investment management in the Nordea Group and in the Asset & Wealth Management division. About our team

Welcome to the Risk and Valuation value stream — We add value by building and maintaining the data infrastructure and analytical solutions that empower our Risk Management and Valuation teams in turning complex financial data into reliable, actionable insights.

We cover the full risk landscape: pre- and post-trade compliance monitoring, key metrics, market risk, liquidity risk, counterparty risk, credit risk, and sustainability risk - drawing upon SimCorp Dimension, MSCI risk manager and other proprietary solutions, from which we create tools and process to enable analytics.

We believe in engineering discipline — treating pipelines and business logic as code to the extent possible, maintaining quality standards, and building systems that scale. We are currently in the middle of an exciting migration towards a modern data stack with Snowflake at its core, embracing the speed, flexibility, and AI enablement the platform makes possible.

What you’ll be doing

Main responsibilities in this role:

• Be an active contributor to value stream backlog refining
• Build data engineering pipelines on Snowflake to enable business outcomes
• Identify SDLC areas which can leverage AI enablement and contribute to building AI agents to make solution creation more effective and of desired quality
• Contribute to migration of existing platform to Lakehouse
• Apply infrastructure as code to provision storage structures and access controls
• Collaborate in the cross functional team and the competence team
• Influence the business domain estate and engage in technology ADRs, tech standards and implementation guidelines

• Experience working with Python in a data engineering capacity

• Building and deploying containerised applications on Kubernetes
• Experience with Snowflake
• Experience with DBT
• Building DAGs with Apache Airflow
• Experience with MCP and AI Agents
• AWS or other public cloud experience
• Infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform
• Experience working in end-to-end delivery teams
• Experience with a Data Mesh strategy
