Job summary

Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) seeks a Customs & Trade Compliance Professional in Assens, Denmark to safeguard global trade flows and ensure full regulatory compliance across import/export processes and regimes.

You will work closely with Planning, Customs & Transportation, Procurement, and Finance to keep processes compliant, documented, and efficient. Hybrid work and a competitive base salary are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in customs & trade compliance, including hands-on work with import/export processes and customs regimes
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in declarations and documentation
• Analytical ability to interpret and apply legislation
• Proactive, service-oriented mindset with strong stakeholder collaboration skills
• Danish language proficiency and valid Danish ID Card
• Working proficiency in English
• Nice-to-have: Descartes software experience

Responsibilities

• Manage and follow up on import and export procedures to ensure compliant, timely customs flows
• Monitor and implement customs legislation changes and country-specific obligations
• Set up and oversee customs regimes such as EMCS (Excise Movement and Control System), IPR (Inward Processing Relief), and bonded warehouse processes
• Classify products and determine valuation and origin (HS – Harmonized System, ECS – Export Control System, FTA – Free Trade Agreement) for accurate declarations and duty management
• Support SAP-based customs processes as a basic user (training provided)
• Conduct regular risk assessments and manage customs claims, with proactive mitigation and clear documentation

Planning & Fulfilment – Global Customs & Trade Compliance Team

• Location: Assens, Denmark

Are you motivated by ensuring full compliance in a complex and fast-evolving regulatory landscape? As our new Customs & Trade Compliance Professional, you'll play a key role in safeguarding STG's global trade flows and reducing customs-related risk. You'll work closely with Planning, Customs & Transportation, Procurement, and Finance to keep customs processes compliant, efficient, and well-documented.

What your day will look like

What you'll bring

• Advantage: experience with AEO (Authorised Economic Operator), UCC (Union Customs Code), CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism), EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation), or customs audits

For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from DKK 432,000–648,000 annually corresponding to the level of the position, expected experience and responsibilities.

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
