Job summary

Motionshift is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to help build the server-side engine for image and video synthesis. You will work closely with research and frontend teams to design low-latency, reliable ML deployments and productionize CV models.

You will own end-to-end CV/DL projects, drive ML infrastructure decisions, and help deploy pipelines that retrain and redeploy models based on feedback and drift. Join a remote-first team in Europe with opportunities to visit Copenhagen.

Key info

We’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who can help us create the server-side engine that powers our interactive tools for image and video synthesis. You’ll be working closely with our research and frontend teams to design and build low-latency, high-reliability machine learning deployments. We’re looking for someone who is deeply interested in the intersection of machine learning and systems design, and has extensive experience building web-based real-time server applications.

Your core mission

• As one of the first members of the core team, you will contribute to most parts of the project: the AI editor.
• Ownership of an entire CV/DL project
• Delivering end-to-end solutions for various computer vision problems, from ideation and experimentation to productionizing
• Ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of computer vision systems in production environments
• Drive taking the right decisions on ML infrastructure
• Work with backend to bring the code to production
• Build a Computer Vision/ML pipeline to make it a closed loop system: based on the customer’s feedback/model drift, the CV system is automatically retrained and redeployed.
• Research and experiment with state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms and techniques, and develop novel solutions
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in computer vision research, and share knowledge and insights with the team
• Researching and building state-of-the-art ML/CV algorithms that can analyze images
• Identifying what kind of data and how much data to generate to get desired results
• Adding to Overview's toolbox of state of the art algorithms
• Using small datasets to generate impressive results
• Relentlessly staying on top of the state of the art computer vision papers

Skills we're excited about

• MS/PhD degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related technical field
• Experience with Python or C/C++ in a Linux environment
• Knowledge and experience in application of Deep Learning to Computer Vision problems
• Real-world experience building Computer Vision systems
• An excellent understanding of and experience with Computer Vision models
• Solid knowledge of at least one machine learning research framework (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow), and at least one high-performance inference framework (e.g. TensorRT, Apache TVM)
• Familiarity with Python-based image and video manipulation/encoding/decoding frameworks, such as OpenCV and PyAV
• Experience with cloud orchestration systems and cloud providers such as AWS
• Ability to write robust and maintainable client-server architectures and APIs
• Ability to rapidly prototype solutions and iterate on them with tight product deadlines
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

A plus

• Experience analysing 3D Video & 3D reconstruction data
• Experience profiling and optimizing deep neural networks, including knowledge of GPU profiling tools such as NVIDIA Nsight
• Tech: Python, Deep Learning (PyTorch or Tensorflow), AWS
• Having had to deploy a model with aggressive inference speed requirements
• Experience with Computer Vision applications for video analysis and processing
• Implemented state of the art papers just for fun
