Job summary

Ascendis Pharma A/S is seeking a Finance Analyst for Global Finance Operations – Procure to Pay (P2P). Based in Copenhagen, you will drive automation, digitalization and process excellence across our financial systems, partnering with IT and Global Finance to optimize ERP use and data quality.

You will support VAT and Intrastat reporting across Europe, and work with cross‑functional teams to implement scalable improvements while focusing on efficient vendor accounting and expense processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
• Approximately 2–5 years of experience in Audit, Finance Operations or Accounting.
• Strong interest in finance process optimization, digitalization and automation.
• Excellent communication in English, capable of working in a global matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end vendor accounting, including invoices, payments and reconciliations with a focus on automation.
• Drive digitization and process improvements to increase efficiency across P2P.
• Act as system superuser for ERP (Dynamics 365) and related tools; enable reporting and workflow automation.
• Support VAT and statistical reporting across European jurisdictions and ensure data quality.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT and business functions to implement scalable improvements.

We are seeking a passionate Finance Analyst to join our growing team. As a key member of the Ascendis Pharma team, you will play a crucial role in driving automation, digitalization, and process excellence across our global finance systems and processes. In addition to ensuring efficient and compliant accounting and payment processes, you will actively identify and implement opportunities to automate manual activities, improve data quality, and optimize workflows across multiple European entities.

You will partner closely with Global Finance team and the IT department to optimize the use and continued development of ERP systems, reporting tools, and automation solutions Through this collaboration, you will help enhance the user experience, streamline Finance processes, and ensure consistently high data quality. The role also includes supporting VAT and statistical reporting, ensuring compliant submissions while identifying opportunities to further improve and automate reporting processes.

You will be joining the Procure to Pay (P2P) team consisting of 9 colleagues, and report directly to Frederik D. Andersen, Manager P2P who is based in Copenhagen. You will be based in Copenhagen.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Accounting, Automation & Process Excellence: Manage and continuously improve end-to-end vendor accounting, including invoices, payments, reconciliations, accruals, and close activities, with a strong focus on automation and process efficiency.
• Expense Management & Digitalization: Drive efficient and user-friendly expense processes through automation, digital controls, data analysis, and continuous improvement of the employee experience.
• Systems, Data & Automation: Act as a superuser in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and ExFlow, leveraging Power Platform, AI, reporting, and workflow automation to improve processes, controls, and decision-making.
• VAT & Statistical Reporting: Support VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, and Intrastat reporting across European jurisdictions, while improving data quality, compliance, standardization, and automation.
• Continuous Improvement & Cross-functional Collaboration: Identify and implement scalable improvements across Finance Operations in collaboration with Finance, Tax, IT, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders, supporting adoption of new technologies and ways of working.

Qualifications and Skills:

You hold a relevant academic degree – preferably within Accounting, Finance or a related field – and approximately 2-5 year of experience within Audit, Finance Operations and Accounting..

Furthermore, you have:

• Strong interest in finance process optimization, digitalization, and automation, with experience using ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
• Experience with Power BI, AI tools, or other automation technologies is highly desirable.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business challenges into scalable process improvements.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic international environment.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across Finance, IT, and business functions.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
