Job description

Qpurpose is looking for one Analyst and Software Engineer to join our team. Whether you have recently completed your Ph.D. or already have industry or academic experience, this position offers a unique opportunity to combine analytical modelling, computational science, and software development to solve real-world industrial challenges.

You will contribute to impactful projects by translating advanced mathematical, scientific, and domain-specific ideas into computational analyses, prototypes, and reliable Python-based software. Over time, there will be opportunities to integrate quantum computing techniques into your work. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of analysis, algorithms, scientific computing, and practical software implementation in a cutting-edge interdisciplinary environment.

At Qpurpose, we collaborate with industry partners across finance, health and life sciences, meteorological prediction, and renewable energy distribution.

What you’ll do:
  • Translate advanced mathematical models, algorithms, and scientific concepts into working software prototypes.
  • Collaborate with mathematicians, researchers, and domain experts to validate ideas through computational experiments and proof-of-concept implementations.
  • Implement numerical methods, optimization techniques, simulations, and analytical workflows in Python.
  • Test, verify, and refine prototype solutions to ensure correctness and alignment with theoretical models.
  • Communicate assumptions, tradeoffs, and limitations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What we’re looking for:
  • A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in Python and the ability to translate mathematical concepts into correct and efficient code.
  • Excellent algorithmic and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to independently drive projects forward.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technical domains.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex systems clearly.
Bonus points:
  • Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience working with sensitive data or secure environments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and reproducible deployments.
