Job summary

AAU Energy invites applications for a fixed-term Research Assistant in Artificial Intelligence for Power Electronics Design. The position is a two-year fixed-term appointment beginning January 1, 2027, based at the Aalborg campus of Aalborg University.

You will develop, train and evaluate machine-learning models on circuit data, board geometries, simulation results and design images. Surrogate models will approximate thermal and electromagnetic solvers to speed evaluations; graph-based methods

Qualifications

Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, electronics, AI or a related field.
Solid foundation in applied machine learning and data-driven methods.
Experience with machine-learning models and evaluating their performance.
Familiarity with circuit data, board geometries, simulation results and images.

Responsibilities

Develop, train and evaluate machine-learning models based on circuit data, board geometries, simulations and images.
Create surrogate models to approximate thermal and EM solvers for faster design evaluation.
Explore graph-based methods and graph neural networks to interpret circuit layouts and relationships.
Contribute to development and verification of AI-driven workflows for electronics-design tasks.
Document workflows and share results with colleagues in AI, power electronics and software.
