Qualifications

• PhD in engineering or equivalent with strong academic record.
• Experience with automation and/or logistics.
• Experience with simulation and digital twins.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
• Strong maths skills and 3D modelling.
• Ability to work independently and in agile teams.
• Willingness to engage in applied R&D with industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI-enabled automation methods for robotic welding of large steel structures.
• Design a hybrid control architecture combining classical control and AI for uncertainty.
• Identify data sets and sensors for training AI models and hardware needs.
• Perform experimental validation of the automated welding system on large structures.
