Job summary

Light is building a Smart Financial Platform and seeks a founding, customer-embedded role to redesign finance workflows using AI-native methods. You’ll map current processes, redesign flows, wire integrations, and deploy AI agents to empower finance teams at multinational SaaS companies.

You’ll work with Financial Controllers, Finance Directors, and CFOs, diagnosing problems, building the solution, and training teams to operate go-live processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working close to how finance teams operate (accounting, process design, or financial customer success).
• Able to design workflows, prototype solutions, and ship working software rather than slides.
• Fluency in finance with comfort handling multi-entity consolidation and reporting.
• Ability to bring structure to messy problems and move fast from diagnose to ship.
• Comfort working with CFOs and engineers and delivering without formal authority.
• Experience with AI tools and knowledge of where they help or hinder delivery.
• Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Bonus: experience in integration engineering or AI agents in production; finance/accounting qualification.

About the Role

You'll embed inside our most important customers and rebuild how their finance function works. You’ll map how the team really works, redesign the workflow, wire the integrations, and ship the agents, all to make sure they work in AI-native ways and are using Light to its full potential.

Your customers are Financial Controllers, Finance Directors and CFOs at fast-growing multinational SaaS and tech companies. Senior, technical, time-poor. You'll sit with them, diagnose the real problem, build the answer - then train them to run it without you.

This is a founding role in a new motion. Part process designer, part builder and deployer. You partner with an Account Manager who owns the stakeholders and the commercial; you own the process re-design and agent deployment. No two customers look the same, and there's no set playbook yet. You'll write it, and we’ll help.

Key Responsibilities

• Embed with a customer's finance team, map and redesign their workflows AI-first

• Partner two-in-a-box with your Account Manager, and pull in platform and AI engineering when you need them
• Feed repeatable patterns to the Product roadmap

Experience & Qualifications

• 3+ years close to how finance teams actually work - accounting, process design, consulting, or technical customer success
• You build & tinker. Vibe coding, data pipelines, and LLM agents are tools you reach for, and you ship working software, not slideware
• You're fluent enough in finance to hold your own with a Controller on multi-entity, consolidation, and reporting - and to know when a request won't work
• You bring structure to messy problems and move fast: diagnose, prototype, harden, ship
• You're comfortable in front of a CFO and next to an engineer, and you've delivered without formal authority over anyone
• You use AI tools daily and have specific opinions on where they help in delivery and where they don't
• Fluent English; additional European languages a plus
• Bonus #1: Solutions or integration engineering background; experience mapping and redesigning finance processes and with AI agents in production (evals, guardrails, …)
• Bonus #2: A finance / accounting qualification

You’ll probably struggle here if

• You need a spec handed to you - here you find the problem, then build the answer
• You've only worked on internal products, never sat in front of a customer
• You think "redesign the process" means "automate what exists". The job is to rethink it from first principles and inject AI where it makes sense
• You want a big platform team to lean on - you'll have part-time support, not a safety net
• You've used ChatGPT once and weren't impressed - we go all in on AI at Light
