Your role

As a Solution Development Manager Automation GI (m / w / d), your mission is to increase the sales, market share, and brand presence for the Defense Sub-Segments across the Customer Center Central Europe in line with our vision and strategy to become #1 provider for Smart Factory Tightening Solutions.

This shall be achieved by working together with the local customer centers ensuring they know where to go, what to do, and how to do it to successfully develop this business. As these sub-segments get major governmental investments, you will initiate, drive and develop the business in the customer center in line with the global strategy. The goal is to exceed a stable customer base and generate exponential growth.

A certain willingness to travel is required, as you will work closely with international teams and customer centers. You will report to the Business Line Manger GI.

You will
  • Be the knowledge holder for the segment in the region.
  • Map the market and analyze to understand and direct where our best chance of success are.
  • Identify key stakeholders within potential customers and initiate first business with accounts.
  • Coach the local sales teams to guide and support their activities.
  • Create awareness within the segment for Atlas Copco: e.g. on fairs, techdays, key-note speeches on events.
  • Identify customer needs, initiate product development and be the divisional point of contact for the segments with our Product Company.
  • Map and identify channel partners to implement a successful channel strategy.
  • Work in close cooperation with Division (Global BDM Defense) and Application Center (ACE).
  • Be the ambassador for the main Key Accounts with headquarters in your region, knowing the main stakeholders, and ensuring the success cases are shared in all countries.
  • Identify and make business cases for new product opportunities they can drive additional business in the region.
  • Increase revenues and profitability by making strategic business decisions.
To succeed, you will need
  • At least five years of professional experience in a comparable position in business development, product management or sales – ideally in the military, aerospace and security technology sector.
  • Business or Engineering Degree or higher.
  • Must have a positive attitude i.e. a high level of social skills, with an ability to quickly create strong relationships and intimacy, at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Be solution-oriented with a broad understanding of military operational and technical areas and in running a business in general.
  • Must have political awareness and the ability to act autonomously but with a clear team focus.
  • Understanding of market mechanisms, requirements and procurement processes in the European Defense Industry.
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to develop strategic partnerships.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify performance drivers, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to present at exhibitions and conferences.
  • Fluent in English and German.
