We are currently looking for our next Sales Manager to help us expand Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) market in Germany & Central & Eastern Europe.

Job Mission: YOU will be a key member of our BESS sales organization and will take full commercial ownership in Germany and CEE focusing on strategic customers in selected verticals. From prospecting, techno-commercial offers, negotiations and handover, you will orchestrate the entire sales process while aligning cross-functional teams to deliver signed and successful projects.

Do you take full responsibility for delivering commercial results and bring cross functional teams to make deal happen? Are you a deal hunter who has already closed multi-MW, Utility-scale renewable projects, ideally with BESS – and ready to build something even bigger?

If yes, we are very excited to hearing from you for an exciting role of Sales Manager – BESS in GE Power Conversion and Storage.

Your responsibilities:

  • With strong commercial acumen, you will define sales strategies and plans for assigned customers with the goal to build a convertible BESS projects pipeline and deliver on key commercia KPIs
  • Collect and share market & customers intelligences to help shape and improve our value preposition and positioning of our offerings in the marketplace
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders across various customer groups such as utilities, renewable developers, energy traders among others
  • Proactively engage and influence early phase of the development of BESS project to maximize our chances of success
  • Drive cross-functional collaborations to create and submit high-quality techno-economic proposals in a timely manner
  • Lead deal closing activities including contract negotiations and internal approvals
  • Represent GE Power Conversion and Storage at various industry events, customer workshops

Your profile:

  • Completed university degree in engineering or commercial focus
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of sales and/or business development experience in renewable energy sector, preferably with BESS
  • Proven track-record of B2B sales and closing complex deals in energy sector, ideally with BESS to utilities, project developers and EPCs
  • Strong expertise in account management, consultative sales and other sales methodologies to close high-value deals
  • Solid commercial acumen & analytical thinking, and enjoy learning things in a fast-moving energy landscape
  • Good command of Salesforce, MS Office and basic knowledge of SAP
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time; mainly in Germany, open to other CEE regions
  • Fluency English required, written & spoken. German fluency will be highly appreciated.

Nice to have:

  • Strong network with utilities, project developers, energy traders and TSO/DSOs etc. In Central and Eastern European region
  • Know-how of the inverters, batteries technologies, control & monitoring systems, grid codes requirements
  • Understanding of customer’s business as well as use cases and project finance structure
  • Familiarity with regulatory, grid and market issues that impacts BESS business
  • Knowledge of project development timelines and workflows (permitting process etc.)
