About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Production Material Planner/Buyer to support the sourcing and procurement of specialized components and materials essential to our robotics production. This role requires expertise in managing suppliers of precision parts, electronics, sensors, actuators, and mechanical assemblies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical understanding of robotics manufacturing needs, a strategic approach to supplier management, and a proven ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery performance in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Your Responsibilities

Oversee procurement of robotics-related production materials, including precision-machined parts, motors, controllers, wiring harnesses, sensors, PCBs, and custom assemblies.

Collaborate closely with engineering, R&D, and production planning teams to align material sourcing with new product designs, prototypes, and production scale-up.

Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers with expertise in robotics and advanced manufacturing components.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings while ensuring technical compliance and reliability.

Manage supplier relationships and drive continuous improvements in quality, lead time, and innovation.

Monitor global supply chain trends (electronics, metals, rare materials) that may impact robotics component availability and proactively mitigate risks.

Support prototype and pilot builds by ensuring critical components are available on schedule.

Implement inventory and supply strategies.

Ensure all purchased materials meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards required for robotics systems.

Mentor junior buyers and contribute to procurement strategy development for long-term scalability.

Your Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

7+ years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years in electronics, mechatronics, robotics, or advanced manufacturing sectors.

Strong knowledge of robotics components such as actuators, sensors, electronics, and precision mechanical parts.

Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and supplier management tools.

Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier evaluation skills.

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to forecast and mitigate supply chain risks.

Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
