For our Electronics Materials Business Unit, we are looking for a Sales Engineer – Automotive Adhesives (m/f/d) in our Frankfurt office to strengthen our team as soon as possible:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sales Engineer to join our team in Germany. This role is crucial to driving the growth of our automotive adhesive business with OEMs and Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers in Germany and the wider European market. As the sole representative in Germany, you will play a key role in managing customer relationships and expanding our footprint in the automotive adhesive industry, while collaborating remotely with our R&D and marketing teams based at our headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.

You will report directly to the Sales Manager at the HQ in Seoul and will work closely with the R&D and marketing teams located in Seoul for support in developing tailored solutions, technical presentations, and product strategies to meet customer needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, technically adept individual to work independently while leveraging global support from a leading company in the automotive adhesive space.

Responsibilities
  • Business Development:
    Identify and develop new business opportunities in the automotive adhesive market, particularly with automotive OEMs and Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers in Germany and broader Europe. Prioritize these opportunities in alignment with the global business direction and strategy set by HQ.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
    Create and implement a strategic sales plan, working autonomously to achieve revenue targets and expand market share in the automotive adhesive sector, while ensuring alignment with the broader global business objectives and goals.
  • Prioritization of Business Opportunities:
    Prioritize identified business opportunities based on market potential, customer needs, and alignment with the global strategy. Work closely with the HQ Business Development Leadership to ensure that efforts are focused on high-impact opportunities that align with the company’s strategic direction.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, engineers, and procurement teams at automotive OEMs, Tier 1, and Tier 2 companies.
  • Technical Expertise & Support:
    Provide in-depth technical support and expertise to customers, ensuring that solutions meet performance, cost, and quality requirements. Work with the R&D team in Seoul to address customer‑specific technical needs and develop product solutions.
  • Product Knowledge & Presentations:
    Deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers, showcasing the benefits and advantages of our adhesive solutions. Collaborate with the marketing and R&D teams remotely for effective presentation materials and content.
  • Market Intelligence:
    Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs in the automotive adhesive market, sharing key insights with the global team in Seoul to adjust strategies and identify new opportunities.
  • Collaboration:
    Collaborate closely with the R&D and marketing teams based in Seoul to ensure alignment on product development, sales campaigns, and promotional activities. You will be a key point of contact in Germany for the global team.
  • Sales Reporting & Forecasting:
    Provide regular reports to the Seoul HQ on sales progress, customer feedback, and market conditions. Forecast revenue, track performance, and adjust strategies as needed.
Experience Requirements / Competencies
  • A successfully completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or a comparable field
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in sales engineer or technical sales role, ideally within the automotive adhesives, sealants, or materials industries
  • Strong understanding of the automotive industry, including OEMs, Tier 1, and Tier 2 suppliers, and the specific needs and challenges related to adhesive solutions
  • Knowledge of adhesive products, bonding technologies, and applications within the automotive sector. Ability to work independently in supporting customers with technical advice and solutions
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and achieving sales goals
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs (Excel, PPT, Word)
  • Fluency in German and English language
  • Willingness to travel within Germany and occasionally to other parts of Europe to meet customers and attend industry events
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a global team
