A leading German university in Hamburg seeks candidates for a project on sustainable materials inspired by water. Responsibilities include method development for material characterization and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ideal candidates have a relevant university degree and strong skills in material science, with an emphasis on curiosity and teamwork. The university offers flexible hours, a work-life balance, and the chance to pursue a PhD within a research cluster.
Join the Cluster of Excellence “BlueMat: Water-Driven Materials” (www.tuhh.de/bluemat) and contribute to one of Europe’s most exciting research initiatives. Collaborate with a dynamic, interdisciplinary team that combines science, sustainability, and technology to create a better future. Help shape the next generation of sustainable materials inspired by nature’s most powerful resource: water. The project focuses on the hierarchical structuring of pores with varying geometries, in interaction with water, to influence plant functions and climate through transpiration across leaf surfaces. Drawing inspiration from multifunctional, water-driven plant systems, project B1 aims to translate biological principles into modular, hierarchically organized porous devices enabling improved and at best tunable water condensation, evaporation, and drying.
A university degree in a relevant field.
