The Carbon Footprint Improvement team, specifically the Energy Markets & Circular Economy team, is looking to welcome you as Project Manager GHG Emissions Calculation at Meo headquarters in Cologne.

The Project Manager GHG Emissions Calculation leads and oversees projects focused on greenhouse gas (GHG) calculations and sustainability reporting. This includes managing project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant GHG assessments aligned with regulatory and organizational sustainability targets. The Project Manager works independently and collaborates with internal (cross-functional) teams and external stakeholders to track progress, drive effective communication, streamline data processes, build and maintain industry network and visibility, provide input for process optimization, contribute to business development measures and KPIs, and implement state-of-the-art technology and GHG methods.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for consulting projects with a focus on circular economy, bioeconomy, renewable fuels and energy, chemical products, and many more
• Develop customized greenhouse gas calculations for entire supply chains applying different tools and standards
• Perform data research, analysis and evaluations for specific customer requests and the preparation of reports and market studies
• Perform in-depth analyses and benchmarks of different governmental regulations on GHG accounting for the aforementioned markets and support transmission into certification systems
• Implement the concepts and processes together with our customers
• Support the further development of our service portfolio and manage proposals and tenders
• Responsible for the whole project lifecycle including scheduling, stakeholder management, documentation, controlling, preparation, and participation in client meetings and project workshops (in-person and virtual)
• Perform company presentations at public, national and international events
• Mentoring of Junior Project Manager within the GHG team

Your profile

• University degree in environmental management, economics, environmental engineering, chemistry, energy management, sustainability or other related fields
• At least 2 years professional experience after graduation
• At least 1 year of relevant professional experience in greenhouse gas calculations for international supply chains after graduation
• Good knowledge in RED methodology, GHG Protocol or similar standards for different products
• Good professional experience in project management
• Additional experience in following areas is advantageous: Lifecycle Assessments (impact category climate), sustainability certification, EU-ETS, EU regulations and policy consulting
• Excellent English language skills (written and spoken)
• Basic German language skills (written and spoken)
• Excellent copy-writing skills
• Excellent PC and Office user skills
• Excellent general IT proficiency
• Excellent presentation skills
• Very good project management skills
• Very good communication skills and approachability
• Excellent integrity, confidentiality and reliability
• Very good organizational skills and ability to work independently and prioritize
