Job Overview

Healthcare professionals are needed to provide medical services to support the military treatment facilities and health clinics within US Army Medical Command, Regional Health Command Europe, and other DoD agencies including US Navy and US Air Forces in Europe.

Qualifications

• Degree: Master's degree in occupational therapy.
• Education: Graduate from an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy program, including an internship as prescribed by the institution.
• Certification: Certified by the NBCOT.
• Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.
• Licensure: Current, active, and unrestricted license to practice occupational therapy.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

• Provide a full spectrum of occupational therapy services within the scope of clinical privileges.
• Evaluate and treat deficits in occupational performance, including motor, neuro-musculoskeletal, cognitive, social, and psychological dysfunctions. Treatments include individual and group activities, exercises, modalities, orthotics, splints, adaptive devices, counseling, and education.
• Assess, educate, and train in health promotion and disease/injury prevention, including psychological health and stress management.
• Administer and interpret occupational therapy assessments.
• Develop and coordinate intervention plans based on evaluation findings.
• Implement intervention plans directly or collaboratively.
• Monitor responses to interventions, modify plans as needed, and reevaluate.
• Communicate with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams verbally and in writing.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.

DOCPER/SOFA/Logistical Support Status

This position is eligible for support under NATO SOFA articles 72 or 73.
