Overview

Mechanical QA Engineer — Location: Frankfurt, Germany — Project: Data Centre Construction

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical QA Engineer to ensure that all mechanical systems in our Frankfurt data centre project meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. You will work closely with the engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to oversee quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Mechanical QA/QC plan for the data centre project.
• Conduct inspections and audits of mechanical installations, including HVAC, piping, pumps, chillers, fire suppression systems, and other critical mechanical systems.
• Verify that materials, components, and workmanship meet project specifications and applicable codes.
• Review mechanical design documentation and drawings for compliance with QA standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to resolve quality issues.
• Prepare detailed QA reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action plans.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Support mechanical commissioning and handover activities.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in construction projects, preferably in data centres, industrial facilities, or large-scale commercial buildings.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, chilled water systems).
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASHRAE, DIN, VDI, EN, etc.).
• Experience in developing QA procedures and inspection plans.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in English; German language skills are a plus.

Preferred

• Experience working with leading engineering contractors.
• Previous data centre project experience.
