What you will do

As the Lead Cloud & Data Engineer you will be at the heart of our product’s development taking full ownership of our multi‑cloud infrastructure and backend services. Working within a self‑organized agile team you will build and deploy IQA the Production Excellence Software that drives our customers’ success. Together with the development team you will:

  • Design, build and scale our multi‑cloud infrastructure, developing, deploying and monitoring container‑based services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and serving large scale Fortune 500 enterprises
  • Architect and own our core customer data processing framework, powering data integration and enabling new users to onboard at record speed
  • Develop and optimize high‑performance APIs and manufacturing data processing pipelines directly enhancing the frameworks that power our AI products
  • Shape the future of our product by co‑defining and implementing new features and technical strategies
  • Champion innovation by researching new technologies and driving knowledge sharing across the team
What we expect from you
  • A genuine interest in industrial production systems and our mission to revolutionize manufacturing through a B2B SaaS product
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and the ambition to take an active role in building a fast‑growing startup
  • Extensive experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure particularly with Kubernetes on major providers (GCP, Azure, AWS) and IaC frameworks (Terraform / OpenTofu / Pulumi and similar)
  • Deep expertise in Python including data processing libraries (Polars, Arrow, DataFusion and similar) and API development (e.g. FastAPI). Experience with languages such as TypeScript/React or Rust is a bonus but not required
  • Proven ability in data engineering including data transformation, storage solutions (object storage, OLTP/OLAP/Cache databases) and pipeline orchestration (e.g. Dagster, Prefect, Airflow)
  • A strong sense of ownership and excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and drive projects forward
  • 5 years of experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, backend development or a similar role
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • We love the energy that comes from working together in person, so spending time at our Cologne or Berlin office matters to us. One on‑site day per week is the minimum, and more time together is always welcome whenever it works for you
What we offer
  • We work differently – we highly value transparency, integrity and authenticity. We trust and respect each other, leading to a very collaborative working environment where everyone can contribute ideas and decisions are made based on competency
  • We are agile and fast‑paced; you will have the opportunity to take on as much responsibility as you want to and go beyond your job description to push your personal and our progress
  • We truly care about work culture and make it a priority by regularly spending time reflecting on our teamwork, actively committing work time to keep our strong team spirit and by incorporating activities into the workday to create balance
  • We embrace diversity with a team encompassing members from nine nationalities and 40% female representation (with the clear ambition to reach 50%), including a female CEO among the founders
  • We contribute to fighting climate change by helping our industrial manufacturing customers reduce their carbon emissions with our products, while being aware of and striving for our own environmental impact and carbon neutrality as a company
  • All other benefits that make work more pleasant: flexible hours, part‑time options, possibility to work remote, regular team events and off‑sites, 30 days PTO, weekly yoga sessions, etc.
