A leading university in Hagen is seeking a Junior Professorship (W1) in IT Security with a tenure track to W3. Junior Professorship (W1) with a tenure track to W3 in IT Security (or alternatively a Full Professorship (W3) in IT Security).
We are looking for an internationally recognized applicant with expertise in current topics of IT security in computer science in both research and teaching.
Applicants for a junior professorship (W1) with tenure track should have a successful record of acquiring third‑party funding; for applicants for a W3 university professorship, this is mandatory.
Candidates should be willing to teach courses in German and to participate actively in teaching computer‑science fundamentals and in curricular development within the faculty’s degree programmes.
Active participation in academic self‑governance is expected.
All essential areas of IT security must be covered in teaching.
Teaching takes place both digitally and in person through modern educational technologies.
Active participation in the development and implementation of innovative teaching and learning formats in accordance with university quality standards is required.
The prerequisite for employment is academic achievement in accordance with Section 36 of the NRW Higher Education Act.
