We, the Berlin Fire Department and the Berlin Police Department, are working together on the planning, implementation and subsequent operation of our cooperative control center, the most modern and largest control center system in Germany. In future, the cooperative control center will be the first point of contact for all emergency calls from the fire department and police in Berlin and the central technical operations service (ZTBD) will form the strong, digital backbone for this. Field of Work

As part of the "Cooperative Control Centre" project group, you will be responsible for the technical concept development, planning, management and optimization of IT control centre components.

You are responsible for the description of system functionalities, parameters and quality requirements that enable the establishment and further development of the new operational control system of the cooperative control center of the fire department and police.

Responsibilities

Independent monitoring, administration and further development of the operations control system (ELS) consisting of the voice communication system, the operations control computer and the control center infrastructure technology.

Deployment and maintenance of control and monitoring programs for the control center applications.

Collaboration in the description and further development of service levels to achieve high availability of the ELS.

Collaboration in the creation of the IT security concept and operating concept for the ELS as well as its consistent implementation and compliance with data protection and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications
  • You have completed a relevant university degree (bachelor's degree or comparable qualification) – preferably in the fields of computer science, communications engineering, or electrical engineering.
  • Alternatively, you have completed vocational training in the field of IT system electronics in conjunction with several years of full‑time professional experience.
  • Training in information technology or electrical engineering is also considered equivalent (e.g. as an IT specialist for system integration, electronics technician for information and systems technology or information electronics technician).
  • You are familiar with the architecture of complex network systems based on Windows / Linux with virtualization, i.e. their hardware and software components, their installation, administration and maintenance.
  • You have experience in the field of data protection and information security and are familiar with the safe application of the legal aspects of IT use (ergonomics, accident prevention regulations).
  • You have knowledge of tools for backups, redundancy and security (especially databases), troubleshooting at hardware and software level using monitoring tools or direct console application.
Additional Requirements
  • You have the flexibility to relocate if necessary and are willing to work on‑call and/or in shifts.
  • You have a class B driving license or are willing to obtain one.
  • You have German language skills of at least C1 level.
