What you’ll bring

Experience & Knowledge

  • 5+ years of IT project management experience, ideally with large‑scale or public sector projects.
  • Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
  • Academic background in IT, Business Informatics, Project Management, Economics, or related field.
  • Business fluent in German and English; additional European languages (e.g. Spanish, French) are a plus.
  • Experience with regulated frameworks (procurement, data protection, accessibility) is a plus.

Hard Skills

  • Proven project management skills, ideally supported by certifications (e.g. Prince2, PMP, IPMA, HERMES, Agile/Scrum).
  • Strong knowledge of project lifecycle management, governance structures, and resource planning.
  • Experience in technical implementation projects (integration, migration, testing, rollout).
  • Familiarity with IT environments in the public sector (identity management, compliance, interoperability).
  • Solid risk and change management knowledge.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence).
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills across diverse audiences (ministries, IT staff, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Your mission

As an IT Project Manager(f/m/d), you will play a central role in delivering complex projects for our largest public sector partners in education. Together with Key Account Managers, customer‑facing teams, and Product/Tech colleagues, you will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with customer‑specific requirements. Your success will be defined by your ability to align stakeholders, manage resources and timelines effectively, and ensure transparent and impactful outcomes. Your work will directly shape how schools, ministries, and state‑level organizations adopt and benefit from our solutions — with a long‑lasting impact on the future of education.

What you’ll do

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Lead and coordinate tailored solutions for large public sector accounts.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria with customers and internal teams.
  • Establish governance structures, reporting lines, and escalation paths.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement frameworks, data protection, and education‑sector standards.

Technical Coordination

  • Coordinate implementation activities across internal teams, delivery partners, and customer IT.
  • Manage system integrations, data migrations, and testing.
  • Translate technical requirements into clear, actionable steps for non‑technical stakeholders.

Risk & Change Management

  • Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support change management to ensure sustainable adoption by end‑users.
  • Document risks, lessons learned, and best practices.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain close communication with customers and internal teams.
  • Provide structured, transparent progress updates.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions.

Public Sector Adaptation

  • Understand and adapt to the constraints of government agencies (budget cycles, procurement, decision‑making).
  • Tailor delivery approaches to public sector processes.
  • Build credibility and trust by delivering consistently high‑quality outcomes.
