About the Role

Andela is launching Andela Academy: Training-as-a-Service (TaaS) — a new business line that helps enterprises reskill and redeploy their workforce at scale. We’re seeking a commercial, client‑centric General Manager to lead this fast‑growing revenue stream.

You will be responsible for building, scaling, and commercializing Andela’s enterprise learning offerings across AI, Cloud, Data, and other high‑demand domains. This is a P&L‑owning, client‑facing leadership role that blends business development, program delivery, and operational scale.

You will oversee a core team of Learning Managers and Architects, manage a distributed bench of instructors and mentors, and partner closely with Sales, Partnerships, Product, and Talent Operations to deliver high‑impact, certification‑driven learning programs that drive measurable client and learner outcomes.

Exceptional Leadership

Low ego, low drama, servant leader: You share credit, take blame. You like being wrong because it means someone else had an even better idea.

One team mentality: You break silos across teams. You put the company and mission first above your team alone.

Great listener, hungry for feedback: You’re always seeking to improve – our product, our business, yourself. You solicit diverse opinions and deeply listen.

Owner, not renter: You see a problem, you fix it or find someone who will. The buck stops with you.

Player‑coach: You fly high (create strategy) AND low (know the details that matter). You roll up your sleeves and get scrappy. You do this without micromanaging, empowering your team while actively engaging in important details.

Business problem solver: You’re not just a functional expert; you consistently get praise for approaching your function through the lens of solving business problems.

Responsibilities
  • Own the commercial performance of Andela Academy, including revenue, margin, and client CSAT.
  • Collaborate with Sales to convert enterprise demand into scalable reskilling solutions; co‑lead strategic client conversations and proposals.
  • Define and execute the go‑to‑market strategy for enterprise learning, including pricing, packaging, and partnership models.
  • Partner with Finance to forecast, track, and optimize business performance metrics.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for enterprise learning programs; represent Andela in client design sessions, steering committees, and outcome reviews.
  • Ensure world‑class program delivery — from scoping and curriculum design to certification, assessment, and redeployment.
  • Drive client satisfaction through measurable impact: certification attainment, redeployment rates, and learner NPS.
  • Lead, coach, and scale a high‑performing Learning Ops team (Learning Managers, Architects, Instructors).
  • Develop delivery models that balance bespoke client needs with repeatable, scalable frameworks.
  • Implement operational rigor: quality assurance, mentor systems, learner engagement frameworks, and continuous improvement cycles.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with certification and learning partners (AWS, Google, GitHub, NVIDIA, CNCF, etc.).
  • Work with Product & Talent Ops to integrate certification data into Andela’s Talent Cloud, ensuring reskilled talent is redeployed effectively.
  • Oversee Codewars integration into Andela Academy as the core learning and assessment engine, ensuring its adoption across enterprise programs.
  • Align closely with Talent Operations to ensure ongoing feedback loop and alignment between TaaS and Talent Upskilling.
  • Drive adoption of the Train‑the‑Trainer model and AI‑assisted delivery (AI copilots, adaptive learning, LMS integrations) to expand capacity.
  • Identify new opportunities for productization — modular course libraries, subscription models, or credentialing partnerships.
  • Champion continuous innovation in content, technology, and pedagogy to maintain market leadership in enterprise reskilling.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise learning, workforce transformation, or technical education — ideally in a commercial or P&L‑owning capacity.
  • in building or scaling a revenue‑generating L&D or reskilling business, preferably in tech domains (AI, Cloud, Software, Data).
  • Deep understanding of enterprise client dynamics — able to engage with CHROs, CTOs, and Business Unit Heads to scope transformation programs.
  • Track record of leading teams that deliver at scale (50–500+ learners per cohort) with measurable outcomes and high client satisfaction.
  • Strong grasp of certification and assessment ecosystems (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, GitHub, Codewars, Coursera, etc.).
  • Data‑driven leader who can interpret learning performance metrics and translate insights into business and operational improvement.
  • Skilled at cross‑functional leadership, influencing Product, Sales, and Operations stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
  • Exceptional communicator and client advocate — able to represent Andela externally as a thought leader in talent transformation.
  • Passionate about the intersection of AI, talent, and learning — and about Andela’s mission to connect brilliance with opportunity.
Preferred / Nice to Have
  • Experience in professional services, consulting, or workforce transformation environments (e.g., Accenture, PwC, Pluralsight, Coursera for Business).
  • Prior experience launching or scaling new business lines or digital education products.
  • Background in technical domains (AI/ML, Data, Cloud, or Software Engineering) or strong familiarity with developer ecosystems.
  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Education, or Technology‑related field.
