SOFTGAMES is seeking an experienced Lead Game Artist to join our fully remote team and lead the artistic vision for our live multi-platform hit, SOLITAIRE HOME STORY ("SOHO"). Since its launch in 2021, SOHO has captivated players worldwide, achieving exponential revenue growth and expanding its platform presence.
As Lead Game Artist, you will lead a small, diverse team of skilled artists and work together with the Producer, Designers, and Developers to ensure the highest visual quality of all art assets, including UI, isometric world assets, characters, animations, and core gameplay elements.
Due to the small size of the art team, you will have plenty of time to work hands‑on in the project as well, taking care of all UI tasks. You will also collaborate with our technical artist and help the team to implement new technologies and AI‑workflows to boost productivity.
Qualified applicants will be expected to complete a graphics assignment.
Define the Artistic Vision : Create and maintain style guides, briefs, and other documentation to communicate and evolve the visual style of the game.
As part of a small art team, you will work hands‑on and take care of all the UI tasks.
Set Quality Standards : Establish benchmarks, workflows, pipelines, and quality goals for all art content.
Be a strong communicator who is adept at resolving conflicts and thrives in a diverse, multi‑cultural, remote work environment.
Organize workloads and allocate resources in collaboration with the Producer.
Align on project goals and milestones with the Producer, Designers, and Developers.
Mentor and manage a team of artists through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development plans.
Supervise Artistic Work : Provide clear, actionable feedback for all art assets, including UI, isometric world assets, characters, animations, and core gameplay elements, ensuring alignment with the game’s style and quality.
Manage communication with outsourcing partners, reviewing and approving their work.
Promote an open, collaborative team environment that encourages diversity, creativity and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Serve as the key liaison between the art team and developers to ensure assets meet technical requirements and are properly implemented.
Integrate AI tools as part of the art pipeline.
