Overview

At Gradientech innovation meets purpose. We are looking for a passionate Field Application Specialist for the DACH region to be the bridge between their revolutionary QuickMIC system and the clinical laboratories that rely on its precise performance of rapid antibiotic susceptibility testing (rAST). In this role you will primarily support customers in Germany and the broader DACH region while also engaging with laboratories and distributors in nearby markets.   • Location: Germany (Remote). Travel to customer sites labs and partners as needed up to 50‑70% of work time

As a Field Application Specialist you ensure that Gradientech’s diagnostic QuickMIC system is successfully implemented, adopted and used optimally by their clinical laboratory customers. You act as the primary contact for all application‑and support‑related questions, bridging the frontier technology with the hospital laboratory daily clinical workflow by providing technical expertise training and scientific application support.

Key responsibilities
  • Support and provide expert guidance to valued customers and authorized sites in Germany and other nearby markets, assisting them with effective implementation and evaluation of the advanced QuickMIC system.
  • Train lab personnel on QuickMIC instrument operation, maintenance and troubleshooting, as well as provide hands‑on training for test kits workflow and data interpretation. Training will be performed both in person at the hospital labs and at distributor sites as well as through engaging online training sessions and webinars.
  • Provide on‑site or remote technical or application support to resolve possible issues. Support troubleshooting is backed by Gradientech’s service engineers and their development team.
  • Document all technical inquiries in Gradientech’s Jira and Salesforce systems.
  • Conduct follow‑up visits to ensure smooth operation and user satisfaction.
  • Monitor QuickMIC system performance and usage at customer sites.
  • Collect and communicate user feedback to product management and development team.
  • Assist the sales team at scientific meetings, conferences and trade shows presenting the QuickMIC technology and the system’s capabilities.
  • Give input and collaborate with the marketing team to create and maintain high‑quality marketing material and clear technical documentation to ensure effective knowledge transfer for various scientific presentations and competitor positioning.
About you

We’re seeking a professional with the following key skills and background:

  • Degree in microbiology, clinical chemistry, biomedical science or a related field – a PhD is preferred.
  • At least 2‑5 years of working experience in clinical diagnostic labs or industry field application support roles.
  • Excellent communication and training abilities.
  • Customer‑oriented and comfortable working independently in the field; customer support experience is highly valued.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into clinical relevance.
  • Ability to engage knowledgeably and confidentially with key decision‑makers (lab directors, professors, CEOs and lab technicians).
  • Driver’s license is essential.
  • Fluent German (C1) and English required.
