Are you passionate about the intersection between mechanics and electronics and do you want to be part of a company that pushes boundaries in life science instrumentation?

We’re looking for an Electrical Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic service team and support the roll‑out and service maintenance of our brand‑new XcytoMatic instrument platform.

This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role where you’ll combine your technical expertise with a proactive mindset to ensure high instrument uptime and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Your Role & Responsibilities

As our new Field Service Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair our next‑gen XcytoMatic instruments at customer sites (primarily biotech and pharma labs).
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electromechanical systems, including firmware updates, calibration, and component replacement.
  • Deliver on‑site training and technical guidance to customers to ensure correct usage and minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Product Management to provide field insights and contribute to continuous product improvement.
  • Act as a ChemoMetec ambassador, providing a high level of customer service and technical professionalism.
  • Document all interventions in our service system (CRM)
What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for someone who thrives on solving complex problems and enjoys traveling to meet customers in their own environments.

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • A Bachelor’s in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with electronics experience, or a closely related field.
  • Proved hands on experience with electrical/technical problem‑solving that you can convert to this role.
  • 2+ years of field experience, ideally with electromechanical laboratory equipment or automation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of sensors, actuators, PCB‑level troubleshooting, firmware interaction, and basic networking.
  • You must be fluent in German and English.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (80% of work time).
  • Residence (or willingness to relocate) near Munich.
