Position Overview: The Automotive / Mobility Enterprise Vertical, Global Account Director is a senior position based in Europe. It involves developing and maintaining business for Global Key Accounts in the Automotive / Mobility Vertical, focusing on logistics solutions such as road, freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, and other value-added services. The role is crucial in establishing and maintaining long-term strategic relationships that go beyond single-point solutions, requiring analytical skills and industry knowledge to unlock hidden value for clients.

Locations

This position is advertised nationwide in Germany, with potential locations including Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, Leipzig, Neufahrn, or a nearby DSV location.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute comprehensive account plans to maintain existing business and identify top opportunities.
  2. Manage named global automotive accounts according to financial and performance targets based on DSV processes.
  3. Develop solutions for global customers, leveraging DSV's vertical structure and competencies.
  4. Work closely with operations to deliver high service levels and develop relationships with key decision-makers within accounts.
  5. Establish and manage internal DSV networks of stakeholders across divisions and geographies.
  6. Understand the customer’s buying process and coordinate opportunities with Global Tender Management or Business Development.
  7. Gain a deep understanding of the customer's business strategically, operationally, and financially.
  8. Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and create tailored solutions across DSV divisions.
  9. Maintain open communication with the account executive sponsor.

  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  7. Effective communication in international and intercultural contexts.
Experience and Education
  1. Proven sales success in the automotive industry.
  2. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in logistics and supply chain management.
  3. At least 5 years of European regional key account management experience.
  4. Minimum 8 years in logistics and supply chain industry.
  5. Expert knowledge of the automotive industry, including electric vehicles, micro-mobility, and circular economy topics.
Travel Expectations
  1. Pre-pandemic travel levels ranged between 25% – 35%.
  2. Approximately 80% travel within Europe.
  3. Approximately 20% global travel.
