Qualifikationen

Purpose of Role:

The Distribution Manager is responsible for refining strategy for growth via the distribution channel in Europe. The role will also be responsible for managing the company's sales through our network of distribution partners. This position will establish annual sales growth and activity plans, drive their execution, manage the resources required for our distribution partners to be successful, and review distribution partner performance. The successful individual will work closely with the Global Head of Distribution to implement management best practices and streamline communication from the Business Unit Sales Directors to execute Synthomer’s strategy and drive profitable growth.

Main Accountabilities:
  1. Lead day-to-day sales activities for responsible distributors, including pricing, setting growth targets, growing opportunity pipeline, and ensuring our distributors meet budget targets. Increase business growth and profitability at all European distributors.
  2. Conduct joint visits with distributors to end customers where necessary to support business growth.
  3. Attend relevant trade shows, conferences, and seminars representing both Synthomer and Distribution Partners.
  4. Hold quarterly review sessions with each responsible distributor.
  5. Ensure KPIs are set for all distributors and are tracked against performance. Identify any gaps within the European distribution network against KPIs and implement growth plans.
  6. Follow Synthomer’s distribution governance and best practices, ensuring all distributors perform well against these standards.
  7. Streamline the distribution network, support interviewing new distribution candidates, and ensure all current distributors meet our rating criteria.
  8. Prepare monthly reports to show performance back to the Coatings and Construction Solutions business unit.
  9. Maintain up-to-date information in the CRM database for all European distributors, including visit reports, opportunity pipeline management, and relevant data.
  10. Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management to develop and launch marketing campaigns and promotions for new and existing products.
Education, competencies, and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Business discipline within the Chemicals Industry.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Specialty Chemicals sector, with experience managing distribution channels.
  • Proven track record in managing accounts to grow business profitability.
  • Successful experience in driving growth directly or through distribution networks.
  • Ability to create and execute structured growth plans with clear objectives and resource requirements.
  • Strong resource management skills to support customers/distributors.
  • Excellent business/financial acumen and advanced negotiation skills.
  • No travel restrictions and ability to work from a home office.
  • Experience in CASE industries.
  • Experience with SAP Business Warehouse and/or SAP CRM.
  • Experience with forecasting databases.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office, business analytics, and CRM software.
