About us

Airbus pioneers sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world. The Company constantly innovates to provide efficient and technologically-advanced solutions in aerospace, defence, and connected services. In commercial aircraft, Airbus offers modern and fuel-efficient airliners and associated services. Airbus is also a European leader in defence and security and one of the world's leading space businesses. In helicopters, Airbus provides the most efficient civil and military rotorcraft solutions and services worldwide.

To support our Application Development Team, Airbus Aerostructures is looking for a DevOps/Full-Stack Developer (d/f/m). As a DevOps engineer you are a developer and tester who has a passion for scripting and automating the full software development process. You know concepts like frontend stacks, source code management, test-driven development and continuous integration tools like Jenkins. In order to facilitate automation testing and deployment, distributed tools are preferred over centralized systems and cloud applications over local installations. You are responsible for the application and strategy of the microservice architecture and the continuous software product development process. You develop visual elements for frontend solutions with popular frontend stacks. The responsibilities of DevOps and Frontend are combined to achieve a more concentrated development of customer-focused solutions.

The Application Development Team supports internal customers throughout the company by developing bespoke software solutions, often with AI components. We simplify the digital landscape by implementing cloud-based applications using stacks like React and NextJS or ADK for agents.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

An additional possible location is Augsburg.

  • Attractive salary and special payments
  • 30 days paid vacation and extra days-off for special occasions
  • Excellent upskilling opportunities and great international, group wide development prospects
  • Special benefits: employer-funded pension, employee stock options, discounted car leasing, special conditions for insurances, transportation subsidy, employee benefits at cooperating companies
  • On-site-facilities: Kindergarten close to the site, medical officer for check-ups and other health-related services, canteen and cafeteria
  • Compatibility of family & work (job sharing, part-time models, flexible working hours, individual timeout)
  • Working in a diverse environment, with more than 140 nationalities, where every voice is heard

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and analyze software development processes and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automate the development and release processes using CI/CD pipelines while maintaining security and compliance controls, ensuring the pipeline concept is secure from cybersecurity attacks.
  • Create new software applications according to business requirements and assess ways to improve the user experience.
  • Develop visual elements for frontend solutions using popular frontend stacks.
  • Guide and lead an informal community cluster of developers, data analysts, and engineers.
  • Assess the needs and anticipate the problems of business customers and select technological automation tools based on their requirements.
  • Create documentation and flowcharts to explain the working of the software development process for audits.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Experience in development with Typescript frontend frameworks (e.g. Reactjs) and various DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git.
  • Demonstrated experience in programming and debugging large codebases with multiple programming languages (Typescript, Python) and databases (SQL, NoSQL).
  • 3+ years in relevant working environments with Linux systems.
  • Configuring and managing SQL and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases.
  • Awareness of agile projects and CI/CD pipelines for DevOps processes.
  • Software development background and experience in deployment at enterprise scale.
  • Very good German or English skills.

Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth with customized development solutions.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth
