We are seeking an experienced Big Data Engineer for our BI Team. This role involves the entire software development lifecycle, from defining concepts and technical design to implementation and ongoing maintenance. The engineer will contribute to the team roadmap and suggest technological improvements by thoroughly understanding our business model and product focus areas.

What you can expect in this role

• Designing and developing new data pipelines and maintaining our data ecosystem, focusing on fault-tolerant ingestion, storage, data lifecycle, and computation of metrics and reports.
• Handling all technical communication within the team to facilitate decision-making and advise on specialized topics.
• Ensuring code quality by writing high-quality, reusable, and testable code and deploying it to production.
• Applying industry best practices and promoting a culture of agility and excellence.

Your essential experience and education

• Several years of development experience in Java and Python.
• Significant experience with distributed big data systems in a production environment, including deployment and monitoring.
• Experience with high-performance data pipelines, preferably using Apache Kafka & Spark.
• Knowledge of scheduling systems like Airflow, and familiarity with SQL / NoSQL databases.
• Cloud data platform experience is a plus.
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
