This position reports to:

Project Operations Manager

Key responsibilities

As a Project Manager (m/f/d) for Modular Systems in Energy Technology, you will be responsible for quotations and deliveries of customer-specific solutions and managing these projects for customers in the German market.

Solutions include gas- and air-insulated switchgear, ancillary systems such as transformers, low-voltage and cable systems, or even complete building solutions.

In this role, you can incorporate your sales affinity into project management, achieving the best results for ABB and the customer.

The work model for this role is: hybrid (#LI-Hybrid)

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Technical and commercial contract clarification with the customer, including risk assessment based on calculations and technical drawings.
• Analysis of specifications and feasibility review, preparation of offers, selection of suitable suppliers (internal and external), processing of customer orders, and project structuring for complex scope orders.
• Close collaboration with sales, the customer, production, purchasing, and the project management team.
• Schedule management of process steps and cost management during project execution, with reporting to management or business unit management in case of risks or major deviations.
• Reporting on project progress as part of the project review.
• Responsibility for the overall project and support of internal and external customer acceptances.
• Organization and monitoring of assembly and commissioning on-site.
• Identification and follow-up of potential customers on-site at the customer or construction sites to win follow-up projects.

Qualifications for the role

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, ideally with a focus on energy technology, or a master craftsman/technician qualification with construction site experience.
• Several years of professional experience in project management (including construction site experience) or project sales, preferably in the energy supply and distribution sector.
• Experience in commissioning medium/low-voltage technology is an advantage.
• Fluent written and spoken German and English skills.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and SAP.
• Solution-oriented thinking, structured approach, and confident communication at various levels.
