Linux System Engineer

The platform is a strategic solution for investment products and client portfolio management in Switzerland, EMEA, and APAC.

The system is currently a multi-tier resilient enterprise cluster implemented with a mix of open source, vendor, and proprietary technologies. 15+ applications are based on a Platform which includes technologies like RHEL, Spring Stack, Container Runtime, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Ignite, Oracle, Ansible, Eclipse RCP, React, Angular, Prometheus/Grafana.

We're looking for someone like that to help us

• Maintain and upgrade existing technology stack
• Development of Ansible playbooks for release rollouts and operational purposes
• Enhancement of existing Platform service implementations
• Contribute to the Platform Modernization
• Provide 3rd Level Support of production environments

Responsibilities:

Investing is a multinational organization inside UBS responsible for building and supporting the One Investment Platform, with the core team in Switzerland.

You will work in Platform Team. You will be a part of an agile team of professionals, working in a close collaboration with technical experts of 15+ applications and operations. It is a very demanding, fast paced, and exciting environment.

Skills

Must Have:

• Bachelor's/master's degree or equivalent with a focus in system engineering
• 10+ years of experience as Linux system engineer for complex applications
• Experience with Apache/Tomcat on UNIX/Linux environment
• Working experience following technologies as a plus: Kafka, ZooKeeper, Elasticsearch, Ignite
• Perl skills would be a plus
• Exposure to Java technologies would be a plus
• Working experience with Agile methodologies
• Working knowledge in tools such as GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, etc
• Good communication skills and able to coordinate technical discussion and activities
• Self-initiative and comfortable working on a wide range of topics
