The hotel has 80 guest rooms and suites and three dining venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, and a lobby lounge. It is ideal for meetings and events with its newly renovated event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.

About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Food & Beverage Department, the Chef de Rang is responsible for assisting the Room Dining team to always provide impeccable service to guests. The Chef de Rang reports to the In Room Dining Manager.

As Chef de Rang, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Providing professional advice and customer care for our guests
  • Serving food and drinks professionally
  • Complying with high-quality standards
  • Preparing mise-en-place, covering, and cleaning work in the In Room Dining area
  • Supporting your superiors in their daily tasks
  • Registering all transactions in the cash register system and carrying out correct cash accounting
  • Assisting in the preparation and implementation of special events
  • Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of HACCP guidelines

As Chef de Rang, we expect from you:

  • A completed vocational training in the hotel or catering industry
  • Basic computer skills; knowledge of the Infrasys cash register system and the SevenRooms booking system is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills—handling guest complaints and positive feedback
  • Open-mindedness and teamwork skills
  • Excellent manners, a well-groomed appearance, and positive charisma
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, including weekend and holiday shifts
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English; additional languages are a plus
  • Right to work in Switzerland
