As an R&D Engineer in the Product Application team, you will develop and provide technical support on product modifications according to customers’ requests.

TASKS

  1. Manage product modification requests assigned within the framework of the IVA (Internal Value Added) process.
  2. Evaluate the feasibility and implementation of technical modification requests based on customer needs.
  3. Develop design proposals focusing on optimal performance-to-cost ratio and discuss them with relevant departments (Industrial Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Sales).
  4. Perform technical calculations (tolerance stack-up, bearing lifetime, etc.) to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
  5. Collaborate with other R&D teams to ensure the technical solutions meet customer requests and Faulhaber quality standards.
  6. Create parts and assembly drawings (both 3D and 2D).
  7. Prepare related documentation (BOM, IVA sheets, etc.).

Manage 2-phase projects assigned to you, ensuring adherence to Faulhaber project management standards and taking responsibility for project execution.

  • Support the Application Engineering department and Sales by providing technical feedback and participating in customer meetings.
  • Attend PSS (Production-Stop Shopfloor) meetings to assist in resolving production issues related to modified products.

PROFILE

The minimum requirements for the ideal candidate are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Strong background in mechanical drawing, tolerancing, and design is essential.
  • Proficient in CAD software (independent use), preferably Siemens NX.
  • Experience in product development is advantageous, especially in electromechanical or micro-mechanical devices.
  • Proficiency in Italian is mandatory; a minimum of B1 level in English is required. Knowledge of French and/or German is a plus.
  • Strong team spirit, openness, and collaborative attitude are essential.
  • Curious and interested in product modifications and market applications involving Faulhaber products.
  • Proactive with a willingness to contribute to team success.
