Our client is the finance department of an international Swiss bank in Zurich. We are seeking a tax professional (m, f, d) for the role of Tax Lawyer US Fund Transactions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure US tax compliance for private equity fund management, considering risk, operational, and tax issues.
• Conduct ongoing analysis of US tax legislation and its impact on investments for portfolio management and investors.
• Analyze fund agreement distribution provisions and allocation for investors.
• Review international tax rules for PFICs or CFCs and handle tax reporting (Forms 926, 8865, 8621, 5471, etc.).
• Assess debt, equity, and income of tax-exempt clients (UBTI), along with other tax analyses for private equity funds.
• Advise clients on US tax implications of investments; act as SPOC for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor newsletters and directives from US tax authorities (IRA).
• Implement regulatory changes in collaboration with IT in tools, processes, and systems.
• Conduct training sessions to explain US tax concepts relevant to investment practices.
• Participate in global tax projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Law, Accounting, or Tax.
• Qualified as a tax professional or on track to become one.
• Professional experience in asset management with US or international tax, ideally with private equity funds.
• Knowledge of international tax returns and US tax laws.
• Experience managing multiple projects and preparing/reviewing tax returns and Schedule K-1.
• Strong project management, communication, and IT skills; proficient in MS Office, Excel.
• Fluent in German and English.
