Software Engineer Technical Lead

Renowned for its stability, conservative values, and focus on sustainability, the bank serves a diverse client base of UHNW individuals, family offices, and institutional clients across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America. The bank are now seeking a Technical Lead Software Engineer to join its technology team in Basel to drive engineering best practices and innovation.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

• Lead the technical design and delivery of scalable, high-performance software systems within banking and financial services.
• Design and implement back-end solutions to enhance the bank’s e-banking infrastructure, ensuring robustness and scalability.
• Continuously improve legacy codebases through refactoring and optimisation, enhancing system reliability and maintainability.
• Explore and integrate modern technologies, frameworks, and language features to modernise the bank’s digital services.
• Mentor developers within the team, driving technical excellence, code quality, and agile delivery practices.

Key Qualifications / Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of software development experience, with deep expertise in C# and the .NET ecosystem, particularly .NET 8.0.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL for database development and optimisation.
• Proven experience engaging with multidisciplinary teams across technology, operations, and product management.
• Strong leadership qualities with a hands-on approach to problem solving and software architecture.
• Fluent in English; any additional European languages are advantageous.
