Renowned for its stability, conservative values, and focus on sustainability, the bank serves a diverse client base of UHNW individuals, family offices, and institutional clients across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America. They are now seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team in Zurich, supporting private banking operations.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

• Provide legal advice and guidance to client relationship managers and senior management on a wide range of legal matters linked to private banking activities.
• Manage day-to-day legal queries from the Zurich branch, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with internal policies.
• Draft, review, and negotiate standardised and bespoke agreements between the bank, its clients, and third parties.
• Liaise with external legal counsel for litigation support, legal opinions, and complex case consultations.
• Contribute to significant banking, regulatory, or corporate projects, providing legal input and delivering internal training where necessary.
• Handle requests from regulatory authorities and courts, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
• Assist the Team Head on diverse legal matters, providing support on ongoing initiatives and case work.

Key Qualifications / Experience

• Swiss-qualified lawyer (admitted to the Swiss Bar).
• At least 7 years of legal experience within a Swiss bank, with a strong preference for candidates from a private banking background.
• Excellent ability to assess complex legal issues, set priorities, and provide clear recommendations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with sound organisational abilities.
• High levels of integrity, accountability, and the ability to perform under pressure.
• Fluent in German and English; proficiency in French or Italian is advantageous.
