Head of Finance

Crypto Finance Group, part of Deutsche Börse Group, provides professional digital asset solutions to institutional clients. The Group comprises Crypto Finance AG, regulated by FINMA in Switzerland, offering trading and custody services. As of 25 January 2025, Crypto Finance secured a MiCAR license for the European market as one of the first providers in the EU. Crypto Finance AG is a SIX-approved crypto custodian for ETP issuers.

We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated Head of Finance. You will report to the Chief Executive Officer of Crypto Finance AG.

The Head of Finance will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the company. The team is responsible for managing all aspects of finance, including accounting, regulatory reporting, capital management, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the financial sector and demonstrate a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks.

The starting date is as soon as possible in our office in Zurich, Switzerland.

Key responsibilities

1. Lead Crypto Finance Group’s financial strategy and operations
2. Ensure accurate and timely financial accounting and reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements and Deutsche Börse Group guidelines
3. Oversee financial planning, including capital and liquidity management
4. Lead and develop a team of finance specialists
5. Develop and manage financial policies, procedures, and controls
6. Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and report results to management
7. Lead the preparation and submission of regulatory reporting and tax filings
8. Analyze financial performance, identify opportunities, and implement strategic initiatives
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and support business objectives
10. Advise senior management on finance and accounting questions
11. Coordinate internal and external audits, including internal control systems
12. Monitor regulatory requirements and industry developments

Requirements

1. Master’s degree in finance or economics
2. Professional accounting qualification; CFA or CPA is a plus
3. Proven experience in finance, preferably in banking, trading, or at a leading accounting firm
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and reporting standards
5. Experience managing capital, financial planning, and budgeting
6. Problem-solving skills, creativity, and structured implementation
7. Innovative, positive, and motivational attitude
8. Self-driven, results-oriented, detail-oriented
9. Fluent in English and German
10. Crypto industry experience is beneficial
