The Sourcing Program Manager - NPI leads the sourcing activities associated with New Product Introduction. This means partnering with R&D, Engineering, and Marketing starting in the feasibility phase through the program launch.
This role will require strong understanding of the development process, IP related agreements and the ability to influence business partners to use sound sourcing processes. You will manage supplier relationships during the development of new products, negotiate commercial terms, support supplier quality, and identify potential risks to develop robust mitigation. In addition, in the early stages, you will act as a single point of contact for all supply chain matters.
You will be joining a global team based out of Rotkreuz, Switzerland with peers in Raleigh – NC, San Jose – CA, Wroclaw – PL, Juarez – MX, and Ziyang – CN. Internal business partners are geographically distributed in locations beyond the above. This position is based fully onsite in Rotkreuz 5 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and manage risks associated with meeting technical and operational targets for project launches.
Maintain and communicate project timelines, supplier issues and potential obstacles.
Use your influencing skills to gain support from the business to implement new processes, as well as to drive compliance with those new processes.
Act as an internal point of contact for supplier sourcing, supplier performance management, and supplier relationship management. Help and mentor your business partners in those areas.
Negotiate supply agreements to include costing, inventory expectations, IP and any other needed terms
Support technical teams in resolving supplier driven issues with the development process
Develop relationships with the R&D, Engineering and Marketing team to help integrate into their planning
Coordinate with Category Managers once the product launches to ensure their ability to integrate new suppliers and products into their category strategies
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
6-10 years of relevant sourcing experience
Experience working with R&D and/or Engineering directly
Experience working in the medical device industry or other regulated industry
Medical device experience is a strong preference
Science degree is a plus
Global experience a plus
Strong project management skills
Continuous improvement experience, experience with building new processes
Self-starter, demonstrated ability operate and excel in ill-defined environments requiring structure
Excellent business partner engagement skills, influencing will be a key component of this role
Ability to navigate through a matrixed organization
