R&D Mechanical Design Engineer – Traction Transformers!

This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in cutting-edge innovation. You will gain hands-on experience contributing to the development ofTraction Transformers (TT)andNext Generation Grids Transformers (NGG).
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will be involved in the full R&D lifecycle — from concept development to testing and product launch, ensuring our solutions meet technical specifications and market demands.

How you will make an impact

  • Develop design specifications and models that comply with relevant standards and regulations for TT and NGG

  • Conduct design reviews and verifications, implementing modifications to enhance project quality

  • Monitor project timelines to ensure milestones are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget

  • Conduct risk assessments, propose mitigation strategies, and identify opportunities for design innovation

  • Align your work with our strategic vision and contribute to future technological advancements

  • Actively contribute to R&D projects by proposing creative ideas and follow-up actions based on your findings

  • Deepen your understanding of our products and technologies to optimize R&D activities and provide valuable consulting insights to internal stakeholders and customers

  • Learn the importance of intellectual property, understand our patents relevant to your work, and appreciate risk management in R&D projects

Your background

  • Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 2–5 years of experience in design engineering, preferably in oil-filled transformers

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools and PLM systems (preferably PTC Creo and Windchill)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills in English; French is a plus

  • Understanding of business processes related to product development

  • Familiarity with external standards and regulations, ideally in the railway sector
