The Global Head of Storage will be responsible for managing the overall third-party storage lease position for Trafigura, which currently has an expenditure of >1B annually.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience in the Energy terminals industry
- Strong understanding of market costs and economics
- Deep knowledge of storage logistics, including warehouse management, inventory control, transportation, and regulatory requirements
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and make strategic decisions
- Leadership experience in managing high-performing teams globally
- Proven track record of operational excellence in commodity trading
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies for optimal storage rates and locations
- Oversee the Storage Approval Process, data flows, and reporting across business lines
- Create strategic plans for storage operations supporting trading and growth
- Manage storage facilities ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
- Optimize inventory processes to reduce costs and manage market risks
- Collaborate with trading teams on storage requirements and hedging strategies
- Negotiate with storage providers; monitor service levels and costs
- Lead and develop storage teams, fostering continuous improvement
- Stay updated on industry trends, technology, and regulations; recommend improvements
- Report on storage performance, KPIs, and operational insights to senior management
