Global Project Manager (Hybrid Working)

We are currently seeking a Global Project Manager to join our team in Rotkreuz. In this role, you will be instrumental in enabling cross-functional teams to successfully develop new products or maintain existing ones on the market. Your focus will be on ensuring that project goals are achieved efficiently and effectively, making the best use of available resources.

The ideal candidate brings a university degree and at least five years of hands-on experience in managing projects within the medical or diagnostic product development space.

Your tasks

  • Establishes and drives the setup of structures for projects, programs, and products related to both development and lifecycle management. This includes overseeing communication strategies, timelines, resource allocation, budgeting, and monitoring progress and costs. Develops and maintains comprehensive project plans that integrate dependencies, resources, and financials to support efficient team operations. Ensures high-quality execution in areas such as risk management, critical path analysis, scenario planning, budgeting, and robust scheduling.
  • Applies standardized project management practices consistently, including preparation and facilitation of milestone and capacity reviews (e.g., cQCR, SCR, fQCR). May also lead initiatives aimed at process improvement. Promotes a culture of continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and best practices across teams.
  • Chooses appropriate project methodologies and incorporates agile practices where suitable. Provides guidance and coaching on agile frameworks, often blending agile and traditional approaches to accommodate both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitates meetings and knowledge exchange across teams and sub-chapters to enhance collaboration and delivery outcomes. Fosters strong team dynamics through effective team-building strategies.
  • Defines, tracks, and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), standard metrics, Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), or Outcome-Based Planning (OBPs) to help teams and functions measure and enhance quality, efficiency, and impact.
  • Serves as a strategic advisor with a comprehensive perspective, supporting teams and the broader organization in holistic planning, risk assessment, scenario modeling, and critical path analysis to maximize value delivery. Acts as the central point of contact for project and program data across functions.
  • Identifies potential risks and evaluates their impact on scope, budget, and timelines. Proactively highlights gaps, delays, or bottlenecks, challenges assumptions, and recommends corrective actions to keep projects on track, while ensuring transparent communication with stakeholders.
  • Manages project-related data to support decision-making by teams, Life Cycle Teams (LCTs), and governance bodies. Regularly provides up-to-date planning information for scenario analysis and portfolio-level decisions. May take on the role of Agile Program Manager in line with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Collaborates closely with Sub-Chapter Leads, Network Leads, Functional Partners, Finance, Portfolio Management, Analytics & Insights, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. Coaches team members and peers, supports skill development, and offers constructive feedback to drive performance and goal achievement.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement within the Sub-Chapter or Project Management Chapter and proposes actionable solutions.

Your qualifications

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree or equivalent vocational training
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in project or program management, ideally within the diagnostics, MedTech, pharmaceutical, or food industries
  • Solid experience with project planning and collaboration tools such as Google Workspace, Planisware, and Jira
  • Strong communication skills paired with a customer-focused mindset
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies; certifications such as PMP, SCRUM, or Agile are highly desirable
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional languages, particularly German, is a strong advantage
