Our client is a rapidly growing startup at the intersection of construction and technology, revolutionizing how infrastructure is planned, sourced, and built.

Role Overview

As CPO, you will be responsible for developing and executing end-to-end procurement strategy. You will build strategic supplier partnerships, ensure cost efficiency, negotiate high-value contracts, and establish robust procurement processes that align with our tech-first approach to construction. You must bring deep experience from a leading construction company and be fluent in either German or French to engage with local and regional suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the overall procurement and supply chain strategy for the company.
  • Build and manage relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and logistics partners across Europe.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Finance to align procurement with project timelines and budgets.
  • Drive cost optimization, negotiate long-term contracts, and mitigate supply risks.
  • Develop a digital procurement framework, leveraging software tools to automate and track purchasing.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Establish KPIs and dashboards for spend analysis, vendor performance, and procurement efficiency.
  • Hire and build a high-performing procurement team as the company scales.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in procurement/supply chain management in the construction industry.
  • Proven leadership in procurement within a well-established construction firm
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, subcontracting, equipment procurement, and international sourcing.
  • Track record of digital transformation or tech integration in procurement is a plus.
  • Fluent in German or French (mandatory), with business proficiency in English.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
