Assistant Treasurer

On behalf of a world leading organisation, we are looking for a skilled Assistant Treasurer, with a focus on technical risk management and treasury activities. This role is designed as a succession plan for the next 5 years, offering significant growth potential. The successful candidate will work closely with the Group Treasurer, leading treasury operations, including risk management, hedge accounting, and IFRS compliance. The key responsibilities of the Assistant Treasurer are:

• Oversee accounting aspects related to treasury activities, including accounts reconciliation, reporting, and assisting with audits.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS 9 and IFRS 7, with a focus on hedge accounting, documentation, and effectiveness testing.
• Support the treasury team in managing credit risk pricing and cash management.
• Assist with internal and external financing activities.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Lead and mentor a small team within the treasury function.

The key requirements for the Assistant Treasurer position are:

• Strong experience in treasury, risk management, and accounting, with a particular focus on IFRS 9 and IFRS 7 compliance.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to lead and manage risk mitigation strategies.
• Experience with hedge accounting and financial reporting.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Knowledge of transfer pricing and intercompany loan management.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or a relevant industry position.
