Description
As a Category Manager of Plastic Films & Resins, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Align's future by overseeing the development and implementation of a robust sourcing strategy. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, RAQA, and Manufacturing, to identify and manage a strategic supply base that aligns with both current and future product needs. This position will report to the Sr. Director, Global Strategic Sourcing. This job is based fully onsite 5 days per week and will be located in Rotkreuz, Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies that align with broader business objectives and drive significant value.
Market Intelligence: Proactively monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and risk mitigation.
Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and driving performance improvements.
Negotiation and Contracting: Lead complex negotiations, structure strategic supply agreements, and ensure optimal contract terms.
Risk Management: Actively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, developing contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment, facilitate decision-making, and drive project execution.
Team Leadership: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Proven Expertise: 6-10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, with a deep understanding of the plastic films, chemical manufacturing, or custom blended materials industry.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to think critically, analyze complex problems, and develop innovative solutions.
Strong Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, build consensus, and drive results.
Negotiation Skills: Proven negotiation skills and the ability to achieve optimal outcomes.
Global Perspective: Experience working in a global environment, understanding cultural nuances, and building relationships with international suppliers.
Advanced Degree: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
