Role Overview

We’re seeking a visionary and execution-focused Chief Medical Product Officer (CMPO), Co-Founder to lead the medical, clinical, and product strategy for Open Ring. This role combines medical expertise, product leadership, and entrepreneurial drive. You will define the clinical and product vision, guide development of services and features that meet real-world healthcare needs, and build partnerships with hospitals, researchers, and other partners. Your work will be critical in helping Open Ring achieve product-market fit, navigate regulatory pathways, and deliver impactful solutions that integrate seamlessly into healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the medical and product vision for Open Ring, translating clinical needs, research opportunities, and customer feedback into product strategy and roadmap.
• Lead the design of product features and services that are clinically meaningful, user-centric, and commercially viable.
• Build relationships with hospitals, research institutions, health systems, and clinicians to drive adoption, pilots, and co-development partnerships.
• Oversee validation strategy, including study design, partnerships, and publication of results that support our products market entry.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and commercial teams to ensure product-market fit and regulatory readiness (FDA, CE, etc.).
• Shape business models that align with healthcare systems (e.g., B2B, SaaS + device, licensing for research).
• Represent Open Ring in medical and health tech communities, speaking at events, building our reputation, and contributing to thought leadership.
• Help build and lead a cross-functional team as we scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in digital health, medical devices, wearable technology, or health tech innovation, with proven success leading product development from concept to market.
• Strong background in clinical or biomedical research, or MD/PhD/clinical degree combined with product development experience.
• Direct experience with wearables, remote patient monitoring, or similar health tech solutions, ideally with hardware-software integration.
• Deep understanding of:

Product-market fit discovery in healthcare

Clinical validation, regulatory pathways (e.g. FDA 510(k), CE)

Health system workflows and how to integrate new technologies

• Strong network of relationships across hospitals, health systems, researchers, and regulators.
• Demonstrated success building partnerships and securing pilots / studies with healthcare institutions.
• Experience in early-stage startups or as a founder, with the ability to work hands-on and at pace.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.

Preferred

• Experience designing or leading clinical trials or real-world evidence studies for health tech products.
• Familiarity with reimbursement models, payer engagement, or value-based care strategies.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, passionate about open-source innovation and community-driven product development.
