Our Private Equity team manages over CHF 300 million in assets under management (AUM) and has invested in over 20 growth companies to date. This year, we launched the successor program "Swisscanto Private Equity Switzerland Growth." To support our expanding investment activities, we are seeking a highly driven and experienced Investment Manager to join our Zurich team.

Role Overview

As an Investment Manager, you will be an integral part of the investment team, involved in the entire investment process from screening to exit. Your main responsibilities include trend scouting, deal sourcing, and conducting due diligence for growth investment opportunities in the technology sector. You will leverage your industry expertise, network, and analytical skills to drive investment decisions and support our portfolio companies operationally. Additionally, you will assist investment directors with financial modeling, market research, and strategic projects. If you thrive in a dynamic, inspiring environment and possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills, this is a great opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sourcing: Identify and attract high-potential technology companies aligned with our investment strategy. Network with founders, co-investors, advisors, and proactively reach out to promising startups in emerging sectors.
  2. Evaluating investments: Perform due diligence on potential investments and prepare investment reports, term sheets, and presentation materials for the investment committee.
  3. Executing: Manage negotiations and closing of investments, coordinating with legal, finance, and due diligence teams under the oversight of an Investment Director.
  4. Managing Portfolio Companies: Provide strategic guidance and operational support to maximize value creation. Take board observer roles where necessary.
  5. Administrative Support: Support the team with event and conference representation, deal-flow database management, LP reporting, and other administrative duties.

Your Profile

  1. Master's degree from a technical university (e.g., ETH or EPFL).
  2. Additional qualifications such as an MBA in corporate finance, business, or management.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of direct investment experience at a venture capital firm or corporate investment arm, with an established network in the European VC ecosystem.
  4. Entrepreneurial spirit; experience as a founder or in target sectors (ICT & Digitalization, Industrial Tech & Robotics) is a plus.
  5. Digital native with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
  6. Independent, self-motivated, adaptable, and proactive.
  7. Fluent in English and proficient in German communication.

Our Offer

  1. Collaborate with visionary founders of innovative tech companies in Switzerland and Europe.
  2. Stay at the forefront of innovation through continuous learning and exposure to new developments.
  3. Opportunities for personal and professional growth, with initiative-driven roles.
  4. Join a high-performance team that values collaboration and mutual respect.
  5. Flexible work arrangements and development programs supported by a forward-thinking employer.
