Decibel is seeking a Video Content Editor to join our marketing team in Medellín. The role involves turning raw footage into polished, platform-native videos for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and more.

You will work hands-on with the team to create engaging content, experiment with formats, and apply AI-powered workflows while maintaining a high visual standard.

We are building an in-house content team focused on creating high-quality, internet-native content across our social channels.

About the Role

We are looking for a Video Content Editor to join our marketing team in Medellín.

This is a hands-on creative role for someone who genuinely enjoys making videos and understands what makes short-form content work.

You should be comfortable taking raw footage, ideas, memes, market moments, or simple concepts and turning them into polished TikToks, Reels, YouTube Shorts, UGC-style videos, and social content.

We are not looking for someone who only knows traditional corporate editing. We want someone who understands internet culture, pacing, hooks, retention, captions, sound design, and the editing styles that feel native to social media today.

You will work closely with our marketing team to produce content consistently and experiment with new formats, creative ideas, and AI-powered workflows.

Responsibilities

• Edit short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, X, and other social platforms.


• Turn raw footage into engaging, fast-paced, platform-native content.


• Create and edit UGC-style videos.


• Develop strong hooks and improve pacing, retention, and storytelling through editing.


• Add captions, motion graphics, sound effects, music, memes, transitions, and other elements when appropriate.


• Repurpose existing content into multiple short-form formats.


• Adapt videos to different platforms, aspect ratios, and audiences.


• Work with creators and team members to turn ideas into finished videos.


• Help develop creative concepts for new video formats and campaigns.


• Use AI tools for video generation, editing, clipping, voice, image generation, ideation, and other parts of the creative workflow.


• Create simple social media graphics and visual assets when needed.


• Follow current trends across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, and internet culture.


• Produce content quickly while maintaining a high visual standard.


• Organize projects and deliver content consistently according to the marketing calendar.

Requirements

• Strong video editing skills.


• A portfolio showing videos you have personally edited.


• Experience creating short-form content such as TikToks, Reels, Shorts, or UGC-style videos.


• Strong understanding of pacing, hooks, retention, captions, and social-first editing.


• Experience with editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or similar software.


• Good visual judgment and attention to detail.


• Strong written and spoken English.


• Ability to understand creative direction and execute independently.


• Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and producing content consistently.


• Familiarity with AI tools for creative production.


• University degree completed.


• Availability to work full-time from our office in Medellín.

Nice to Have

• Experience with motion graphics or animation.


• Experience recording or producing UGC-style content.


• Basic graphic design skills using Figma, Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools.


• Experience working for a startup, agency, creator, media company, or digital brand.


• Interest in financial markets, trading, crypto, technology, or internet culture.


• Experience with generative video and AI creative tools.


• Experience creating memes or highly shareable social content.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

Salary: COP $4,000,000 – $5,500,000 per month, depending on experience and portfolio.
