INGEPSY is seeking a detail-oriented Test Engineer in Barranquilla, Atlántico, Colombia to design, execute, and improve testing processes ensuring software quality. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to verify functionality across web, mobile, and API platforms.

Responsibilities include creating comprehensive test plans, executing tests, reporting defects with steps and evidence, and contributing to automation efforts and testing framework improvements.

Formación

• Proven experience as a Test Engineer, QA Engineer, or similar role.
• Hands-on testing across web, mobile, desktop, and API.
• Experience creating and maintaining test cases, plans, and docs.
• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
• Familiar with defect tracking and test management platforms.
• Understanding of software development and release processes.
• Ability to translate requirements into effective testing strategies.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple testing activities and meet deadlines.
• English proficiency if working with English-speaking teams or docs.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and quality-focused Test Engineer to design, execute, and improve testing processes that ensure software products meet functional, technical, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, hands-on testing experience, and the ability to work closely with development and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Analyze requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to identify testing needs.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, usability, exploratory, and performance testing.
• Execute manual and automated tests to validate software functionality and reliability.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and track software defects.
• Provide detailed defect reports including reproduction steps, expected results, actual results, and supporting evidence.
• Retest resolved defects and perform regression testing after software changes.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts and testing frameworks when applicable.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to investigate and resolve issues.
• Participate in release testing and deployment validation activities.
• Monitor test results and communicate quality risks, issues, and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of testing activities, results, and defects.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, automation coverage, tools, and overall product quality.
• Support continuous improvement of QA standards and testing methodologies.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience creating and executing manual test cases.
• Knowledge of automated testing concepts and frameworks.
• Ability to identify, reproduce, prioritize, and clearly document software defects.
• Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Knowledge of API testing and tools such as Postman or similar platforms.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL and database testing.
• Understanding of Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to software quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and effectively.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
