Job summary

Prestigious multinational company in the Telecommunications sector in Bogotá is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to oversee full-cycle accounting, supervise month-end and year-end closings, and ensure compliance with Colombian standards and local policies.

The role includes supervising an Accounting Assistant and Receivable/Invoices Analyst, managing accounts receivable, invoicing, and supporting-document filing, and coordinating with external auditors and tax authorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full-cycle accounting work for the company, supervise month-end and year-end closing, review accounting entries, ensure compliance with Colombian Public Accounting standards and group local financial policies.
• Assign, supervise and review work deliverables of Accounting Assistant and Receivable and Invoicing Analyst; provide professional guidance, track task progress and resolve complex and non-routine local accounting issues raised by team members.
• Take overall charge of accounts receivable, invoicing and accounting supporting-document filing management. Verify traceability of accounting vouchers, approve account-reconciliation adjustments and follow up long-term outstanding aged items.
• Lead monthly bank reconciliation, review final reconciliation reports, investigate and resolve persistent book-bank discrepancies.
• Supervise documentary procedures for foreign-currency purchases and payments, guarantee accurate and complete booking for the company's foreign-currency transactions.
• Monitor invoicing updates, review billing-related reports submitted by the team, identify revenue & receivable risks and drive rectification actions.
• Cooperate with local external auditors, Colombian tax service providers and headquarters finance; provide accounting data and supporting documents for local audit, tax declaration and group-required financial reporting for the company, and implement audit adjustments for local books.
• Establish and optimize Colombia-local accounting management rules and internal-control workflows; sort out accounting procedures, propose process-improvement suggestions, standardize accounting-document management and mitigate local accounting risks.
• Support local business-finance collaboration: participate in financial review of key local projects, give accounting professional opinions on local business models and contract terms to support front-line operation.
