Kraken is seeking a Staff Engineer for Pro Verifications to own the technical direction of verification architecture. You’ll define services, shape vendor integration, and ensure fail-safe, auditable flows across KYC/KYB processes.

Hands-on across the stack, you’ll drive improvements that prevent outages and harden compliance posture. You’ll mentor senior engineers, establish ADRs, and partner with security and infra teams to keep a fast, secure, and scalable verification platform ready for

Formación

• Eight years building and running production systems with ownership of a domain's technical direction.
• Fluent expertise in Rust; capable across TypeScript/React for verification near the customer.
• Architected systems that survived reliability tests and avoided recurring failure by design.
• Shaped teams through patterns, tooling, or mentoring to deliver more and faster.
• Experience designing with compliance, payments, and security in mission-critical contexts.
• Integrated third-party APIs with robust timeouts, retries, idempotency, circuit breakers and test coverage.

Responsabilidades

• Define the shape of verification services and contracts across the KYC/KYB flow.
• Abstract KYC/KYB vendors to prevent outages from provider outages.
• Design fail-closed behavior and audit trails for regulatory scrutiny.
• Identify recurring failure classes and eliminate them.
• Author and drive architecture decisions (ADRs) and enforce security/compliance at design time.
• Mentor senior engineers through reviews and direct feedback.
• Aim to increase verification speed and coverage while keeping systems reliable.
