Butler County Special Education Interlocal #638 is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator to support exceptional children and help improve the educational program. The position offers flexible hours and base pay starting at $10.30 per hour, with higher compensation possible based on college hours, experience and assignment.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers, preparing instructional materials, supervising students, and helping with classroom tasks and clerical duties.

Formación

• Evidence of good mental and physical health.
• Correct articulation and language use.
• Attend required inservice(s).
• Able to work in crowded, noisy environments.
• May require some travel.
• Must implement directions from the professional.
• Some lifting may be required.
• Able to accept supervision from the supervising teacher.
• Carry out remedial or developmental activities as directed by the certified person.
• Assist teachers and specialists in collection and preparation of instructional materials and equipment.
• Work with (tutor) individual pupils.
• Work with small groups.
• Drill the entire class on follow-up or reinforcement activities.
• Correct papers and check the work of students at the discretion of the instructor.
• Measure and chart behavior for each target as directed by the supervisor.
• Maintain a time log of activities, if necessary.
• Assist with classroom housekeeping chores.
• Prepare instructional aids, games, and bulletin boards at the discretion of the supervisor.
• Perform various clerical duties within the classroom. This may include data entry on computer.
• Supervise students on buses and/or at dismissal and/or on field trips.
• Supervise job training.
• Assist in carrying out programs set up by support personnel (OT, PT, speech and Vocational)
• Maintain good public relations with parents, supervisor and co-workers.
• Any and other all duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).
